B.M.S. Institute of Technology and Management

The B.M.S. Institute of Technology and Management , is a private engineering college in Bangalore, Karnataka, India affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. It is the sister institution of B M S College of Engineering, a well established government aided engineering college in India.It is situated at a little distance away from Bangalore, in an open and sparsely populated and built area, known as Avalahalli,doddaballapura Main Road, 5 km from Yelahanka town and within a radius of 10 km from Bengaluru International Airport. It is situated on a sprawling & serene campus spread over an area of 18 acres.But recently 2 acres of the College area was seized by Government due to illegal possession since earlier.But when it comes to comparing this college with CMRIT, NHCE, nitte, we can probably choose BMSIT ahead of these colleges.

Schemes:

There are a variety of schemes being followed here as of 2018.The first and second year’s follow 2017 VTU Scheme,

Third year students follow 2015 VTU Scheme and the final year students follow 2010 VTU Scheme.This is due to the frequent improvements being implemented for the wellfare of students 

Academics:

VTU CBCS Eligibility for Passing.

(a) In a theory Course/Drawing, the student should secure minimum passing marks of 35% of the maximum marks and in total 40% of the maximum marks (i.e., prescribed for SEE and CIE) including the CIE marks. The Minimum Passing letter grade is ‘E’.

(b) In a Practical/Internship/Project/Viva-voce examination, a student should secure a minimum of 40% of the maximum marks. The Minimum Passing Grade is ‘E’.

At the end of the program the student should have secured CGPA not less than or equal to 5.00

At the end of the program if the CGPA of a student falls below 5.00, the student shall be permitted to appear again for SEE in full or part of the previous semester Courses by rejecting the performance for required number of Course/s (other than seminar, Project and Practical’s).

A student may, at his/her desire, reject the total performance of a semester (including CIE marks) or reject only the result of his/her performance in University examination of a semester. The rejection is permitted only once during the entire programme of study.

Faculty : Here, the faculty members are super, knowledgeable, and friendly. They exhibit the knowledge out of the box. They have the higher degrees. They are available for all our doubts to clarify. They are punctual to the class and abide by all the rules. In spite of being strict, they are friendly to every student. The best part is the practice session.All sorts of teaching methods are used like blackboard projector and seminars etc. Student to faculty ratio is good enough and teacher can check each student's progress individually.

Infrastructure : Here, the infrastructure is awesome.They have huge  buildings with all the laboratories and research laboratories.Sound infrastructure and a picturesque campus. Throughout the curriculum, whatever the infrastructure is required we do have all. We have got an amphitheatre for the college and playgrounds. We have seminar halls for all the departments.

Placements: The students of BMSIT & M are trained from the first year fitself in soft skills such as personality development, group discussion, mock interview, aptitude test, etc.As per the CSE Branch the college placement rate is 97%. As of now, the highest package offered for this academic year is around 16 LPA. The average salary package offered maybe around 4 LPA. Many reputed companies like Amazon, Accenture, TCS, HCL, Adobe, etc., visit our college to offer placements. Many roles were offered to students to get involved with the outside world. Students have many clubs to participate, organise, and get connected with the industrial environment. There is a placement cell in the college, and it helps students a lot. The placement cell takes care of students from the first year onwards by conducting placement training every week and conducting seminars which are useful.

College Fests : There are two types of events held in the college in one academic year which gives you one fest for every semester. One is technical, and other is non-technical. Each fest is organised well in every year, and other than this, there will be branch fests for every department every year.But the college does not provide enough funds which would be a great add on  for organising the fest.
